Hepatitis is rather a serious disease that affects the liver and may leave long-term damage. The most common type is Hepatitis B, though there are some other hepatitis types.
The first of hepatitis types is Hepatitis A. It is caused by poor hygiene habits of the person, for example not washing hands properly. It is also possible to get infected with this type of the virus by drinking beverages and eating foods that are contaminated. In the USA, Hepatitis A is a form of viral hepatitis, which usually causes a number of health problems.
The second of hepatitis types is Hepatitis B. It is found in blood and may be transmitted through infected blood. It is possible to get the virus by using an infected needle during drug injections. The transmission is also possible in case of sharing toothbrushes and razors with the infected person. Hepatitis B is also transmitted through vaginal secretions and semen. So, the infection can be transmitted through sexual contacts with the infected person. It is worthy of note that the virus is rather robust, so it can stay alive in dry blood for as long as one week. That is why blood-contaminated surfaces should be disinfected. This condition may be very serious. It may cause liver cancer and even death.
The third of hepatitis types is Hepatitis C. It is transmitted through blood and sexual contact with the infected person. It happens very rarely that the infection is transmitted through household contact. It is possible to get infected during blood transfusions and while using illegal drugs. Hepatitis C is dangerous because it spreads very slowly and stays for a long time. This condition is one of the most serious causes of liver cancer all over the world. A lot of people die from the liver disease caused by Hepatitis C every year.
Hepatitis D is another one of hepatitis types. This virus needs Hepatitis B to affect the liver. People are safe from hepatitis D if they are immune to hepatitis B. hepatitis D is very dangerous. It is spread all over the world. But it can be spread in different ways in different places.
In the regions where this hepatitis type is not that common, it is transmitted through blood. Those with hemophilia and drug addicts are more prone to the infection in the USA. Nevertheless, it is possible to transmit the infection through close contact with the infected in such areas as southern Europe, the Middle East and northern Africa.
And the last hepatitis type is Hepatitis E. It is transmitted through impure water. It is necessary to mention that the disease caused a lot of deaths in pregnant women. As usual, tourists to such countries as Africa, Asia, South and Central America are prone to getting the condition. There are also such types as alcoholic and drug induced hepatitis.
Hepatitis B is one of the most common diseases. It can be explained by the fact that it is easy to spread, there are a lot of ways of transmission and it is rather difficult to define who has the condition.
There are a lot of people who are not aware of the fact that they are infected. It is because they have no any symptoms.
